It’s Official!
Girlie-Q Productions has an EIN number, as of June 19–guess that means the company is a Gemini. I’m not sure if this means that the state officially recognizes us as a non-profit (and we need to do the work to get the federal paperwork filed), but we’re on our way! Last weekend, we had our first official Board meeting (me, Finch, coffee joint) and during lunch today, I’m going to go open our business bank account.
Woohoo!
In other more mundane news, we’re out of coffee here at the Special Lady Palace and T showed me some instant Nescafe that she got for free on the street yesterday. I was poo-pooing it yesterday, drinking some decaf earl grey, trying to trick my mind into thinking it was getting caffeine–and stopping for coffee on the way into work at my local java joint. But today, friends, I’m practically snorting the stuff. (OK, I am not that desperate, but I am on my second cup. It’s really not that bad.)
In other, other news, we had our first Girlie-Q Variety Hour rehearsal last night. It was great. La Directora helped me greatly with my act. It’s so good to have another set of eyes on it, especially when that someone will give me honest feedback. It’s hard to get that from people and I feel like I’m at a critical point with burlesque, where I need/want/desire to raise the bar on my own work.
We also had a great photo shoot on Wednesday night. I got to have my vision realized. I’m not going to spoil the surprise about the shoot, but let’s just say that it’s very glamorous and very naked! And I’ve probably never looked better in the individual portion of the shoot.
All righty, gotta jump. But before I go, I want to leave you with a Friday video. (If you’re getting this through facebook, go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFRSawe33sA
